A Place to Stay in Alabama: Cache Creek’s Indian Casinos Jul 08

Alabama is home to several exciting gaming establishments. Not only does the state play host to Greyhound Racing, Alabama is also the home of several casinos – though not all of them are exactly what you might call traditional casinos.

The reason that not all of the casinos are considered traditional casinos is because some of them base the majority of their business on bingo. The traditional casino bases their business on slots and table games. The good news is that there are a few casinos in Alabama that do offer both. So, whenever you feel the need to gamble, you can do it in practically any way that you want. Bet on the dog races, play bingo, try your hand at blackjack, roulette, poker or craps, or attempt to beat the one armed bandit.

The Creek Indian Tribe, which is the only Indian tribe recognized by the federal government within the state of Alabama, owns three of these Alabama casinos. The Tallapoosa, Riverside, and Wind Creek Casinos are all owned and operated by PCI. In fact, Wind Creek Casino is the newest edition to Alabama casinos and, of course, to the Creek Indian casinos. The casino just opened in January of 2009 and is the largest casino in the Creek family of casinos. It’s shiny, it’s new and it’s packed with excitement around every corner. However, this hip casino offers much more than just entertainment.

This modern mecca of entertainment also offers a luxurious hotel with stylish, yet comfortable furnishings that will allow you to kick back and relax after a long night of fun on the casino floor. However, the lavish guest rooms are not the only way that the Wind Creek guests are spoiled during their visit. While relaxing in luxury, whatever your stomach desires is just a phone call away at any time. That’s right – 24 hour room service! What better way to end the night than with a tasty midnight snack?

So welcome to Alabama the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel. If you happen to be traveling near Atmore, AL, stop on by and enjoy the finer side of southern hospitality.  Find out more via Fort Randall Casino, Fortune Lounge Online Casino or Feather Falls Casino.

The Many Amenities of Las Vegas' Aladdin Hotel and Casino Jul 02

The Aladdin Casino Las Vegas was an icon in its time. Opening its doors in 1966 on the first day of April, also known as April Fool’s Day, must have somehow temporarily displaced the bad luck that had befallen the previous property owner. In a gorgeous shower of beauty, flower petals floated down from up above as casino guests entered into the hall of the massive casino on opening day.

The previous structure had been a hotel, King’s Crown, which had failed after a brief 6-month period. Evidently, the hotel could not compete with the casinos in the area and, though a gaming license was applied for, it was denied. Milton Prell then purchased the structure and spent $3 million dollars for the building’s overhaul. During the renovation, he added a remarkable theatre with a 500 seat capacity so that his guests could enjoy twice nightly shows. Another of the Aladdin’s amenities was the 9-hole, custom golf course. Obviously, Prell believed that his guests should have it all.

The Aladdin Casino saw many famous faces during its time. In fact, the Aladdin’s Arabian themed structure and rich décor proved a perfect setting for one of the most famous celebrities of all time, Elvis Presley, who chose this magnificent casino for his marriage to Priscilla in a privately held ceremony.

But, all good things come to an end, and that’s exactly what happened for Prell in 1969. The property has changed hands several times during its history, which is typical for properties in fast paced Las Vegas. The former location of the “Aladdin Vegas” is now the home of Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort.

Since 2007, the Planet Hollywood Casino, a casino boasting 100,000 square foot of gaming space, has played host to Las Vegas gamblers, movie makers, file premiers, and theatre shows. Among its expansive gaming floor are reel slots and other money slots ranging in denomination from $0.05 - $500.00, card games such as blackjack, three card poker, baccarat, and let it ride, and the traditional favorites - roulette and craps.

Aside from the thrill of pressing your luck on the casino floor, you can also take a stroll through the stores, check out the luxurious spa treatments, burn some calories at the state of the art gym, take a dip in the pool, or dine in one of the 9 different restaurants and cafes that are available. Rest assured that no matter what your needs are, Planet Hollywood is ready to fulfill them.
