The Top Items To Take On Your Alaskan Cruise May 14

An Alaskan cruise is definitely one of those one in a lifetime experiences. You will witness scenery and animals that very few people have had the pleasure of seeing and indeed cannot be seen by any other method. You cannot even see them taking Canada Holidays cruises. Its a pretty unique environment however and your normal cruise packing list does not apply. So what do you really need to take with you when you go?

Lots of warm clothes. A lot of people don’t realise that their Alaska cruise isn’t likely to be very warm. The temperature in Alaska can drop quite low, sometimes hitting the minus 30°C in middle winter. The summer time offers some more reasonable temperatures but if you are going to be in the elements you will still need some clothes with decent warmth.

Binoculars. You really will regret it if you forgot to bring these. Whilst everyone around you is gasping in amazement, you’ll be squinting to make out the tail of something that might be a whale. Because everything is so big in Alaska, including the boats, most of the things you want to look at will be reasonably small in comparison. You won’t strain your eyes and you’ll have a greater experience of the sights if you take some binoculars with you.

Camera. If you have camera with a big enough lens then you might not need to take bincoculars. But the rest of us will require both. A camera is not only useful for studying the pictures after you have taken them but also to share the experience of your great Alaska cruise with friends and family when you return.

Wildlife book.If you spot an unknown animal and have any resource to look it up in, it will play with your mind for a long time. It can also be quite fun learning about the wildlife and understanding what their actions mean and how they go about their days.

Thermos. When a lot of your time is spent above board, a thermos is God send. This is all that really needs saying about a thermos flask.
